Food: Stir Fry with Edamame

Halloween 169

Film: Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder is both incredibly creepy and interesting. It is not a mindless yet funny slasher flick or a humourous and disgusting zombie extravaganza. Watch it.

Food: Pumpkin Seeds

Halloween 190

Pumpkin seeds and pumpkin carving naturally go hand in hand. I’ve always been a big fan of these salty, crunchy snacks you only get when you carve a pumpkin (store bought seeds are just not the same).

I created two special coatings for these seeds. One was savory and include soy sauce and cumin.

Halloween 193Film: Scream

Sort of funny, sort of scary, with a nice twist of horror movie nostaligia, Scream is solid film to represent horror movies of the 90’s. What is it up against? Truthfully, some pretty tough contenders, including The Blair Witch Project, Silence of the Lambs, and The Sixth Sense. Okay, okay. The 90’s were actually a pretty decent time for horror movies, although the 60’s/70’s are the prime time for me.

Anyway, the whole point of Scream is horror movies and referencing them in sometimes subtle, but often not, ways (such as Fred the janitor in his hat and striped sweater). Although it isn’t a favorite of mine, it’s definitely worth seeing.
